Brentford sub, Yoane Wissa, scores the winning goal with the last kick of the game against the Hammers. Bowen had canceled Bryan Mbeumo’s first goal for the Bees.

Wissa Secures Three Points For Brentford

Wissa scored a late winner for Brentford when they beat West Ham in the Premier League.

It was quite difficult to make out from the two teams as to who were the experienced ones and who were not. Brentford completely dominated over the Hammers in the first half after grabbing a lead, with the assistance of goal-line technology, after a Mbeumo strike.

West Ham replied after the half when Bowen scored a half-volley to tie the score to 1-all. Only 10 minutes remained on the clock when the Hammers equalized.

Hammers kept on pressing but Brentford calmly managed the pressure and created one last chance for themselves.

Jansson headed the ball into the goal, which was saved but the rebound fell into Wissa, who hammered it home.

Brentford suffered a shock in the pre-game warmups when Janelt suffered an injury. He was replaced by Frank Onyeka. The switch in the line-up was expected to be crushing but the reality was quite different. The Bees could have been 3 goals up in the first 10 minutes itself. Onyeka had an effort blocked away to Mbeumo following an early corner and the striker then curled an effort which left Lukasz Fabianski standing but clipped the crossbar.

Brentford head into the international break with 12 pts from only 7 games. They are currently in 7th place on the table.

West Ham is now sitting at the 9th position and has lost 4 of their last 7 English Premier League home matches.
