Cara Delevingne is an English model and actress best known for her work with Burberry, DKNY, Mulberry, Miu Miu, and Chanel. She was born in Hammersmith to Pandora Leigh (née Poynter), a former model and actress, and musician Dougie Poynter. She attended acting school but decided to pursue modeling instead. In 2014 she made her acting debut as the titular character in Anna Karenina.

She has also appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia seven times; more than any other model at that point in history! Cara Delevingne has revealed she was told to hide her sexuality when she first started modeling.

The model and actress, who came out as bisexual in 2015, said she felt “fear” during the early part of her career because of her sexuality. She told Variety magazine that she was forced to keep her relationship with musician St Vincent a secret.

Cara Delevingne added: “If you love who you love, it shouldn’t matter.” The 25-year-old model, who is bisexual, says that when she first began the profession she was told by agents to “act straight” if she wanted to get work.

Cara found success on both the runway and in front of the camera thanks to her striking look and outgoing personality. However, despite being one of fashion’s most prolific models, Cara had some difficulty finding people who understood what it meant for someone like herself to be in such a public industry.

It wasn’t until after meeting her now-girlfriend St Vincent (aka Annie Clark) that Cara felt comfortable expressing herself online and during photoshoots too. The model and actress, who came out as bisexual in 2015, said she felt “fear” during the early part of her career because of her sexuality.

“I was afraid that people wouldn’t accept me, not just in my family but also society,” she told Spanish daily El Pais.

“When I started modelling, I was afraid that they would treat me differently or reject me because they saw me as a sex object.”
