Chelsea hosts their London counterparts in the 1st leg of the semi-final tie which will see Antonio Conte back at Stamford Bridge for the first time since he departed in 2018. Thomas Tuchel addressed the media ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

Thomas Tuchel could start with Romelu Lukaku in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup. He had left out the Belgian on his match-day squad in the EPL encounter between Chelsea and Liverpool. He had talks with Lukaku and things are hopefully sorted.

It has been a satisfying start to the New Year for Chelsea and Tuchel saw his side hold Liverpool in an enthralling 2 goal draw after being 2 goals down on Sunday.

Spurs on the other hand should feel fortunate for their place in the Carabao Cup semifinal. Chelsea undoubtedly remains the better team, but they have it in them to win the tie. The gap between the two teams remains at just a point and the spurs have 3 matches in hand.

The 2nd leg of the semifinal is slated in the north of the city next Wednesday.

Chelsea Are Having It Tough And Have Drawn 4 Out Of Their Last 5 Games

Chelsea is going through a rough patch, having drawn 4 out of their 5 games in the EPL. But that should not weigh down too much on Chelsea as the derbies between the two rivals are a different proposition altogether.

Tottenham Hotspurs have improved but the blues remain among the top 3 sides in the League. Their attack remains formidable even without Lukaku and the match will see some good chances at both ends.

The Spurs prevailed over Wolverhampton 2-2, beat Burnley 1-0 and prevailed over West Ham by 2 goals to 1 to move into the semis.

The blue lions also faced three Epl opponents beating both Southhampton and Aston Villa on penalties before beating Brentford by 2 goals scored in the last 10 minutes to make it to the semifinals.
