Cassidy Hutchinson Testifies In Front Of House Committee Investing Jan 6 Capitol Attack

Cassidy Hutchinson

Cassidy Hutchinson has been summoned to testify before the panel on Tuesday. It was her 3rd time addressing questions from the panel.

The committee reveals additional details of evidence from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows’ staffer Cassidy Hutchinson in a 248-page brief in the court dispute over Meadows’ probable testimony. Meadows was specifically warned of probable violence on January 6, according to Cassidy Hutchinson’s second meeting with the committee.

On the first count, Hutchinson verified that the White House Counsel’s Office frequently advised individuals trying to overturn the election that using other slates of electors — or going even farther — was not permissible.

Cassidy Hutchinson Has Covered More Ground Since Her Last Testimony

Notwithstanding this, Meadows and others continued their efforts to reverse the election, culminating in the Jan. 6 demonstration.

On the second point, that this may interfere with Congress’s duty, Hutchinson said Meadows was told about the possibility of violence that day. She said that he addressed the matter with Anthony Ornato, a top Secret Service agent and White House political consultant, in early January.

Over 800 interviews with insurgents and Trump advisers were performed by the House investigative committee on Jan. 6.

Hutchinson was asked if the White House Counsel’s Office’s finding was brought up in discussions with members of Congress. It was, she stated. Reps. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) were among others she stated were present (R-Tex.).

Because the committee did not provide the whole transcript of Hutchinson’s testimony, several potentially significant pages are still unavailable.

Meadows endorsed one of the most far-fetched ideas, despite White House counsel’s advice and evidently after the desk informed him of the threat of violence, according to the new documents.
