On a brand-new song, some of the most recognizable figures from the 1980s music industry are collaborating!
The song “Gonna Be You” was written for the upcoming movie 80 For Brady, a car trip comedy starring Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field as four IRL best friends who travel to see Tom Brady play during the 2017 Super Bowl. The song will feature Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, Belinda Carlisle, and Debbie Harry.
Diane Warren, who has written countless top 10 singles over the years, including Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” and Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time,” wrote the next major smash for the musical icons.
Dolly Parton And Many Other Artist Are Collaborating On A New Song
When writing “Gonna Be You” for 80 FOR BRADY, Warren said the following about the song: “I wanted to write a song that recognized this women’s deep friendship. Since the song’s title contained the number 80, I had the brilliant idea to have some of the 80s’ most well-known singers perform it. These performers are still incredible and always will be.
Everyone I spoke to agreed and expressed similar excitement to mine. Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, and Debbie Harry all contributed to this song, which I consider an honor! You want to sing together with your buddies to the song “Gonna Be You”! The forthcoming movie 80 for Brady, starring Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, Jane Fonda, and Sally Field, is “based on the actual story of four best friends living life to the fullest when they take a crazy vacation to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see their favorite Tom Brady play.”
Before the Feb. 3 80 For Brady premiere, the song will be released on Jan. 20.
