We have finally found out why Draymond Green missed the open-floater at the end of regulation in the Warriors’ play-in loss to the Memphis Grizzlies last season.
The reason that we found out is not going to make the Warriors fan feel any better about the incident.
Draymond Green Talks About The Miss
Draymond Green stated that he had just lost track of time. He had flipped it up because of that.
The Warriors wound up losing 117-112 to the Grizzlies in overtime. The score was tied at 99 points apiece when Green tossed up his errant shot.
The loss was the Warriors’ second in the play-in tournament, which ended their disappointing season.
This miss was another reminder of Draymond Green’s reluctance to shoot last season. It also was another wasted game for a great Steph Curry performance.
Steph Curry led all the scorers with 39pts in the game. Green had a great box score and tallied a triple-double. Fans do not remember the positives but all they remember is the erratic miss.
However, Green says the situation didn’t have to do with hesitation. He’s mad at his clock mismanagement more than anything.
He stated that it was not that he didn’t want to shoot the ball, he just completely lost track of time and thought that he needed to get it up there.
Everyone has asked him the same question: ‘Does it haunt you that you missed that shot?’
He always replies with the same “no” and added that it was his fault entirely to not know the time.
