Elijah Wood Expresses Cautious Hope After Being “Surprised” By the Upcoming “LoR” Films

Elijah Wood stated that it (the movie) arose from a love for the novels and a desire to watch them on the screen and that he is hoping that these upcoming films will ultimately serve as the driving for everything that will come eventually. 

About the impending LoR movies, Elijah Wood is cautiously optimistic. The actor from Yellowjackets, who is most known for his role as Frodo in the LoR trilogy, offered his opinion on the channel’s plans to create several new franchise movies.

Elijah Wood On More Movies Being Made On The Tolkien-Verse

He explained, in a recent interview that he is intrigued and enthusiastic and certainly hopes that there will be more films based on the trilogy. Although unsure about his surprise, he understands that it made sense how more movies or series are being made on the infamous novels of LoR. Elijah Wood further added that wanting to succeed financially is at the heart of it and that the CEOs are not saying, “Let’s develop amazing art, He went on saying that he does not wish anyone ill and although, originating out of business excellent cart can be created and hence, the two ideas are not incompatible.

In the same interview, Elijah Wood also opens up about working in the original LoR franchise as Frodo, saying that the original movies were not a product of that area (business), it rather arose from a deep love for the book trilogy and wishing to make something out of them. He continued that all he wishes for is that the new movies retain some magic that the original movies created. He said that every time a screenplay or a filmmaker is employed, he hopes that the same driving element remains at the core- the desire to explore the material crafted by Tolkien.
