The Post has reported that Georgina Chapman and Harvey Weinstein’s divorces have been officially finalized. The divorce of the couple was being contested in the Supreme Court of Manhattan. This week, it was finalized. The records of the court on the internet list the case under the category of “disposed”.
Georgina Chapman’s Two-Year Long Divorce Procedure
On Monday, the divorce received a sealed, final motion, as per reports from sources and records. Dan Rottenstreich, the attorney of Georgina Chapman, has declined to comment. He is an attorney for Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich, a leading firm for matrimonial cases. Other clients from the A-list include Uma Thurman and Christie Brinkley. No representative for Harvey Weinstein could be reached so far.
The stunning fashion designer, Georgina Chapman, and the movie mogul in disgrace, Harvey Weinstein split after learning about him being a serial sexual offender. Weinstein was convicted of rape in 2017. Chapman has been in a relationship with Adrien Brody, the actor, for the previous two years while the divorce was being contested in court.
45-year-old Georgina Chapman and 69-year-old Weinstein have two children together: 10-year-old India and 8-year-old Dashiell. The two had met each other during a party and had wed in 2007. The former couple had reached a settlement regarding the divorce in 2018 January. Weinstein was required to pay between $20Mn and $15Mn to his ex-wife. He also relinquished his kids’ custody.
The divorce was filed anonymously with all records being sealed. However, the exhibits of the case provided some clues regarding the items that were fought over. Chapman announced her decision to dump Weinstein a short time after his sexual predator news was revealed. This happened in 2017 October. In March 2020, Weinstein received a sentence of 23 years in prison due to rape.
