James Harden Will Not Be Given To The 76ers By The Nets

As the trade deadline approaches, the stalemate between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers will only intensify. The 76ers are interested in trading for James Harden. For the first time this season, Brooklyn looks willing to make a trade, but they’d need a large sum of money in addition to Ben Simmons to pull it together. The 76ers, on the other hand, would almost certainly want to trade Simmons for as little as possible in return.

James Harden Has Been Looking For An Agent

James Harden, who does not have an agent, has been on the lookout for someone who can help him get out of Brooklyn.

When James Harden tried to demand a trade from the Rockets, the 2018 NBA MVP sought the advice of Wasserman representatives Jason Ranne and Chafie Fields.

It’s an indication if you consult with agents. After the 2021-22 season, James Harden is pondering leaving the Nets. He’s avoided using representation in the past since he’s a max-contract player who doesn’t want to pay commission on his deals. Instead, he has often sought advice from the NBA Players Association on the many contract options open to him.

This summer, the Nets have the option of signing Harden to a long-term contract for upwards of $50 million each season. He would lose tens of millions of dollars if he left Brooklyn on his terms in free agency. Harden would need the Nets to agree to a sign-and-trade or an opt-in-and-trade if he wanted to play in Philadelphia, so the scenario would be difficult.

For the past two years, the Sixers have been pursuing Harden using Ben Simmons as bait. The Houston Rockets preferred a pick-laden package over a Simmons-centric one from the Sixers as part of a four-team transaction that sent Harden to the Nets last season.

Simmons has yet to play for the Sixers this season after requesting a trade last summer. Regardless of whether he is traded before Thursday’s deadline, he does not appear to have any plans to return to the organization.
