Joe Biden Faces Quandary As America Wades Deeper Towards A War With Russia

Bipartisanship Joe Biden

Joe Biden along with his western allies faces a challenge that becomes more intense. This comes after the Ukrainian army has been able to resist the Russians largely with the help of modern equipment from the Americans. Should the Americans go all out in its war with Russia and back Ukraine directly to eject the Russians?

Any wrong move could escalate the situation on the front and force Putin’s hand and threaten his fight to stay in power. For now, the Americans are giving the Ukrainians enough materials to hold on to by the thread. But it is never enough to turn the tide of the war and escalate the situation towards a nuclear conflagration.

Retired generals have maintained that America has to do more if it seeks to make an impact in the war with Russia. For now, America is moving directly into a war between the two former Soviet Union states.

Joe Biden Wants To Be Remembered For His Role In The War But Appears Hesitant

Russia is mobilizing additional forces into the front and has been relentless in its pursuit of the war. He appears to be planning another major offensive. While American generals want more tanks and other armaments pumped into the war. Joe Biden has to consider the implication of escalating the war and moving towards a nuclear confrontation, something Putin has threatened time and again.

Things have moved fast in recent weeks. A high-level American delegation was in Kyiv while Gen. Mark Milley, the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, visited Poland to catch up with his Ukrainian opposite number for the 1st time.

After Zelensky visits America and his emotional plea to Congress, it remains to be seen whether Western leaders match rhetoric with generosity. Joe Biden said that America was stepping up to protect the values of the free world and standing strong beside Ukraine. For now, he wants to remain to bide his time on the sidelines.
