Judas Priest Tour Postponed: Guitarist Faulkner Hospitalized With Heart Condition

Judas Priest had to cancel their US tour after Richie Faulkner, their lead guitarist had to be hospitalized for a severe heart condition. He is currently under treatment for his illness.

The statement posted by Chipster PR & Consulting did not elaborate on the type of condition. Rob Halford, lead vocalist of Judas Priest, and popularly known as ‘Metal God’ posted about his bandmate’s illness on Instagram. Faulkner has been the lead guitarist of the British band since 2011.

Tickets for the remaining tour will be effective at a later date. Judas Priest said that they will reschedule the tour once they get updates from the doctors treating ‘Falcon.’

Judas Priest Was In The Middle Of An International Tour Till January 2022

Judas Priest was in the middle of a tour and their upcoming show was at Mission Ballroom in Denver on Wednesday. The 50 Heavy Metal Years tour of North America was to continue till November and included a 3-run concert in Canada.

The European part of the tour would begin in January. The first concert is scheduled to play at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on the 26thThere has been no clarity if Judas Priest’s European tour schedule would be affected by Faulkner’s heart condition.

The tour is a deferred celebration of the 50th anniversary of Judas Priest and mainly featured songs from Firepower, their last album. It went on to the top of Billboard’s chart for hard rock. It also went up to Number 5 on Billboard 200.

It is the metal band’s best-ever showing on an all-category album. Sony released a limited-edition collection of the band’s songs. It includes remastered editions of each of their studio and lives albums. It also includes memorabilia, new artwork, an exclusive photo book, and collectible items.

Just before Faulkner fell ill, the band had performed in Kentucky at the ‘Louder Than Life’ festival of music, between September 23 and 26.
