Police have finally arrested a suspect after the burglary at the gubernatorial candidate’s campaign headquarters in Arizona. The campaign HQ of Katie Hobbs, who is the present State Secretary, was burglarized early this week, leading to an arrest.
Local police and Katie Hobbs’ campaign manager have however not indicated that her office was a crime of a political nature. The Phoenix PD initially got a call about the forced entry at her office in the downtown capital of Arizona on Tuesday at 5 pm. Officers arriving at the scene found that numerous items were missing from the campaign headquarters.
Police have not yet listed those items and have only cited that it was an ongoing investigation.
Police Have Not Indicated Any Political Motive In The Attack On Katie Hobbs’ Campaign HQ
The report by the Phoenix police revealed that a computer mouse, a camera, and a digital keyboard were taken. Phoenix police revealed the name of the suspect as Daniel Mota Dos Reis, 36. He has been arrested after he answered the description of the surveillance tape from the crime scene.
Dos Reis was also identified as the suspect in one more commercial break-in in the neighborhood. It is still not clear if the person had taken the services of an attorney. There appears to be no political angle to them at Katie Hobbs’s campaign headquarters.
Nicole de Mont, the campaign manager of the Democratic candidate has thanked the Phoenix PD for the prompt action and the quick arrest. She said that Katie Hobbs’s team would continue to work together with the law enforcement authorities as this inquiry progresses.
The Republican contestant Kari Lake and Katie Hobbs and are fighting hard for the governorship of Arizona. Lake has the backing of Trump though the former news anchor lacks political experience. She has parroted Trump’s claim that the presidential elections in 2020 were rigged. Katie Hobbs has refused to engage Lake in a political debate from the start.
