Jen Psaki, the press secretary of the White House, gave a statement on the sitdown that took place between Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of Britain, and Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America. She tried to give explanations on why the American President refused to take questions from the reporters that were present at the event. In her explanation, Jen Psaki stated that the British Prime Minister blindsided the aides of the White House. The sitdown was held on the 21st of September that fell on a Tuesday.
Jen Psaki’s Statement
The press secretary talked about the incident while recognizing the relationship that lies between the United States and Britain. Jen Psaki claimed that the relationship between the two countries has been extremely strong for any minor incidents to harm them.
And then claimed that PM Johnson called on reporters from Britain and totally blindsided them. She added that none of the members from America were alerted beforehand. After a few rounds of questions, some reporters were heard complaining about the situation. They stated that two of the reporters from Britain were allowed to ask questions but they were not.
This incident led some White House members to file a complaint to Jen Psaki. One of the reposters gave an insight into the incident. It was stated that PM Johnson invited the British reporters into the oval office of the White House where the meeting was taking place. Following that when the reporters for America tried to ask questions of the American President, they were asked to leave the room. Later when one of the people asked if the President was affected by the disturbing event, the press secretary replied by claiming that President Biden was not at the least worried by the situation.
