Kelly Ripa Confesses To Being Glad That Sarah Geller Went Against Her Words

The actress, Sarah Gellar, later made a guest appearance on the show of Monday’s episode. 52-year-old Ripa recounted feeling glad that Sarah had not listened to her. She recalled that Sarah had announced to her about her move to California several years ago as she was in the process of exiting All My Children. To that, Kelly had replied by being in disbelief and saying how California had nothing.

She further questioned Sarah on the truth and validity of the opportunities Sarah was talking about. Kelly Ripa even went on to say that Sarah should not move to California being still a youngster in her career. Kelly had discounted Sarah’s belief that she would achieve fame in California and instead insisted that she should remain in the area where work is available – i.e., theater and television.

Since their time as co-stars in the show All My Children, the two actors have become close friends. Although Kelly Ripa once advised against Gellar’s career goals, she is glad that Gellar followed her instincts instead. Kelly Ripa then recounts Sarah replying about how wrong her advice was. Now, Ripa admits to feeling extremely grateful that Sarah had not heeded it and took on the challenge to become the star that she is.

Gellar later strutted off to begin a prominent career in both television as well as film. Between 1997 and 2003, she starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which gave her her first major role in primetime. In films like The Grudge, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cruel Intentions, and Scooby Doo, she also played a leading role.
