In a recent turn of events, Britney Spears’ father has filed a motion to end her 13-year-old conservatorship which dictated every moment of her life. James Spears filed this motion in a Los Angeles Superior Court which could see the conservatorship terminated. According to the document, it was stated that Mr. Spears simply wanted the best for his daughter.

And if he believes that Britney is ready to handle her own life, James Spears wishes that his daughter should get that opportunity. Nonetheless, this would have to be approved by Judge Brenda Penny, who will be overseeing the case.

Britney Spears To Finally Gain Control over Her Life?

Incidentally, there was no such reply made by the attorney of Britney Spears to this turn of events. Unsurprisingly, James Spears had to face quite a lot of the anger which surrounded the conservatorship- both from the public, and his daughter.

In fact, his daughter’s attorney was about to file a petition to remove Mr. Spears from the conservatorship in a case that had its hearing on the 29th of September. On the 12th of August, James Spears had mentioned in a filing that he had been debating about stepping down as the conservator of her finances- but he hadn’t provided a deadline to that. While he had already relinquished his control over Britney Spear’s life back in 2019, he still had some control over her money.

James Spears has routinely mentioned that there is absolutely no justification for him to be removed, as he has simply been working in the best interests of Britney Spears. This conservatorship started all the way back in 2008 when Britney began having several mental struggles in public while media outlets chose to obsess over every single moment. She was surrounded by paparazzi everywhere, which also saw her losing custody of her children.
