Liz Cheney is a Wyoming Republican and ranked at number 3 as the House Leader. On 12th January, Tuesday, Liz Cheney made a public announcement regarding her decision to vote in the impeachment process of Donald Trump.

She has decided on voting for the impeachment of Trump. Following this, she will become the top-ranked official in the Republican Party who has openly supported the charging as well as the removal of Trump from his office.

The impeachment is taking place due to his incitements which resulted in the riot at the US Capitol Hill building in Washington D.C. on 6th January. This resulted in 5 deaths and an unprecedented attack on the democracy of the country by Trump and his supporters.

A Firm Ground By Liz Cheney

Liz Cheney gave a statement holding Trump responsible for the Capitol riot and the deaths that took place on the day. She openly said that Trump has summoned his supporters there and did not take any action to stop the attack and violence.

She considers this to be a huge betrayal by the President of the US towards his oath and office.

The voting process for the impeachment will be taking place on Wednesday where Trump has been charged for the incitement of attack. This is the very first time in the history of the US that a president is being impeached twice.

Although, thus far, the members of the Republican Party are divided over this decision and blaming Trump for the attack.

Liz Cheney is the daughter of Dick Cheney, an ex-Vice President. She has had several disagreements with Trump earlier regarding various issues concerning the welfare of the nation.
