Lori Lightfoot, the Mayor of Chicago, reached out to the ones who were spreading rumors about her over various platforms of social media. The rumors that were being spread were with regard to the decision of the mayor of the Democratic party. it was stated that all the rumors concerning the subject were untrue. The mayor also went on to call it “trash.” The statement came out this Sunday.

Lori Lightfoot On “Trash” Rumours

Lori Lightfoot took to the social media platform, Twitter, to make her claims. Through her tweet, she made accusations on some members of the media and those Twitter handles who were verified. She expressed that she was filled with shock and disappointment after having known about the rumors that were being spread about her by those handles. 

The 58-year-old Democratic mayor further went on to let the people know about her decision on the matter. It was tweeted that she will continue with her responsibilities as the mayor with the help of her group. Slamming the rumor, she clearly claimed that she has no such plans of resigning from her post. Lori Lightfoot wrote that she will continue to work as the elected mayor. She also made a mention about the subject of rumors that were homophobic, misogynistic, and racist in nature. She stated that the city of Chicago hardly had any time for these things, neither today nor in the future.

It seemed like the former mayoral candidate of Chicago, Ja’Mal Green, was a bit apologetic for being responsible for the spread of rumors concerning the resignation of the current Democratic mayor. Green took to the social media platform, Twitter, to refer to it. There was an apology made to Lori Lightfoot for being a part of the spread of the false rumor. Green also mentioned the fact that they had lied to right from the beginning of the administration. The tweet was made this Sunday.
