Manchester United

Manchester United has not been in the greatest of forms at the moment. The team had very high hopes of winning the English Premier League this year. The season started with the biggest thing going in favor of United- Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was highly speculated to be joining the rival team Manchester City for this season. In a very late twist, the superstar changed his mind and decided to join his old club. This signing was expected to bolster the Red Devils in a significant fashion.

The initial few matches went very well for the Red Devils. Cristiano Ronaldo played brilliantly initially to guide the team to successive victories. Everyone began talking about United being a strong contender. Unfortunately, that was not to be.  As the league progressed, the team began to fall apart.

They lacked in almost every department and failed to capitalize in the crucial stages. This was topped by a feud with the previous manager and Cristiano Ronaldo’s poor form. The team looked lackluster for the latter half of the league and are now nowhere near the title contention.

However, despite the poor run, Manchester United can still finish fourth. The team has the backing of veterans like Rio Ferdinand. Let us learn more about the story in detail below.

Manchester United Battles For Fourth Place

Manchester United is currently aiming for a number four finish under Ralf Rangnick. Ralf Rangnick has been appointed as the coach of the team recently.

He has tried his level best to make the club regain its old glory. United has been heavily backed by former players like Rio Ferdinand. Ferdinand stated that United was the only team to have the strike force.

Ferdinand also said that Manchester United was a consistent team. He fully believed that the Red Devils will be able to clinch the Champions League spot.

Robbie Savage also agreed with Ferdinand. However, Michael Owen stated that Tottenham Hotspur could be the dark horse for the number four spot.
