It has been reported that several eligible citizens in the state of New York would be receiving up to $270 as a result of a new stimulus check payment. The payments have been set in motion following the announcement made by the Governor of the state- Kathy Hochul- on the 8th of September.

The payments have been called the Additional NYS Child and Earned Income Tax Payment, and these will be used to help citizens with the cost of inflation, and will also be issued to the New York Department of Taxation and Finance. As per the information provided by the Governor’s office, claimants who had previously filed a tax return in 2021 and had received either the Empire State Child Credit, the Earned Income Credit, or both, would be deemed eligible for the payment.

People In New York Could Receive A Stimulus Check Payment

The stimulus check payments issued by the state will be mailed automatically, with the minimum amount issued being $25. Although Marca expects the checks to be sent out by the end of October, officials have claimed that there could be some delays for those needing to provide the state with their personal information. Hochul, the Governor, stated that through the application of this relief package the state had been making good on its commitment to helping the hardworking citizens of the state through this nationwide affordability crisis.

The Governor further stated that the program will definitely be putting money back into the pockets of close to two million families in New York who have been struggling to make ends meet in the face of inflation, the pandemic, and the increase in prices. Hochul’s administration has remained quite focused on improving statewide affordability, and she thanks the legislature for their efforts in ensuring that the people of the state receive the stimulus check payment when they were in times of intense duress.
