After three seasons with Michigan Wolverines, Daxton Hill is the latest player to declare for the NFL draft in 2022.
The finest defensive back in Michigan is on his way to the NFL. Daxton Hill, a junior safety known for his range and playmaking skills, revealed his intention to enter the NFL Draft this Thursday.
He announced his decision to declare for the NFL draft on his Instagram account.
NFL Draft Will See Daxton Hill And Hassan Haskins
Daxton Hill thanked Michigan, the coaching staff, and his teammates for their support during his three-year stay in Ann Arbor in an Instagram post.
The declaration for the NFL Draft was predictable. Hill has played 32 games in his three years as a starter. Mel Kiper, an ESPN draft analyst, called the 6-foot tall and 192-pound heavy defensive back a possible sleeper in this year’s class in October.
All of Daxton Hill’s coaches voted him as first-team All-Big Ten. In the previous season, he was second on the team with 70 tackles, five tackles for loss, and nine pass breakups. Hill had two interceptions, tying him with DJ Turner for the team-high in interceptions.
Running back Hassan Haskins, who also declared his intention to enter the NFL on Thursday, has joined the guys in maize in foregoing their collegiate careers.
This season, Haskins rushed for 1,327 yards. He created a school-record 20 touchdowns. He earned first-team All-Big Ten accolades for his domination.
Haskins rushed for 2,300 yards and 30 touchdowns throughout his college career. He was recognized for his robust running and additional effort, as well as his running hurdles. He had a season average of almost 10 yards. He bore the load for the latter part of the football season as his teammate, Blake Corum, was out with an ankle sprain.
Hill and Haskins join a growing list of NFL Draft declarations that include Michigan outside linebacker David Ojabo, edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, defensive lineman Christopher Hinton, and receiver Daylin Baldwin.
The NFL draft will take place in Las Vegas on April 28-30.
