Nick Sirianni, the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, did give some glowing endorsement to Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Eagles. This endorsement was preceded by the playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with attention turning towards the team and the question of whether it would be addressing Hurts’ position over the offseason.

Sirianni did state that while he did not play his best game, he was coming from an injury- and still played his heart out. The Quarterback went 23 of 43 for 258 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the NFC wild-card loss to Tampa Bay.

Nick Sirianni Believes In Jalen Hurts’

Nick Sirianni further mentioned that while the team was being judged on the last game, he believes that the quarterback has improved over the season. And he got better as a passer, he got better reading the defense, and quite adept at getting the ball to the right place. Sirianni seems to be quite proud of the development his quarterback has done, especially in his ability to extend plays- not only making plays with his feet but also through playing downfield on the scramble.

Nick Sirianni is quite confident that the team is in place here with the position of quarterback. While it is not doubtful that Jalen Hurts has had a great year, what needs to be mentioned is the growth that this player has shown over the course of the year- and how much development is left for him to grow as a complete quarterback. And Sirianni believes that due to the character he has, and the love for football he has, it should be possible.

Nick Sirianni’s comments on Jalen Hurts are justified since the 23-year-old completed 61.3% of his passes for 3,144 yards with around 16 touchdowns to nine interceptions while leading all quarterbacks with 784 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns, as he also led the Eagles to a 9-8 regular-season finish to secure the final playoff seed.
