Rod Wave Arrested for Weapons Possession in Florida

Rod Wave

Rapper Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was apprehended by authorities in Manatee County, Florida, on Wednesday, as confirmed by the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Rod Wave’s arrest stemmed from suspicions linking him to a gang-related shooting in Florida, resulting in injuries to four individuals on March 31. According to law enforcement officials, the altercation involved gunfire following a verbal dispute among a group of men. The victims, comprising three men in their twenties and a 17-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon arrest, Rod Wave was transported to the Manatee County Jail, where he was identified as a convicted felon. However, his legal representatives, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, disputed this claim, asserting that their client was wrongly accused. They argued on social media that there was no evidence of wrongdoing and denied Rod’s ownership of ammunition. Furthermore, they contended that a basic check of public records would have disproven his alleged felony status. Subsequently, the prosecutor and the judge acknowledged the lack of evidence supporting the charges and released Rod Wave on the same day.
