Shohei Ohtani Is Bringing the SHOtime To The AL In Bid For MVP

Shohei Ohtani has come to be considered as a “superfreak” in MLB. He has continued doing stuff that other players cannot even imagine doing. In the whole of MLB, Ohtani is currently the player that has dominated the most for the season so far.

Babe Ruth Is Being Called The Japanese Shohei Ohtani

The Japanese national plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as their designated hitter/pitcher. He has stood out in both roles. On the mound, his ERA stands at 2.10 which is the best in his team. With the bat, he is the leader in the whole MLB at 14 home runs.

One of his recent exploits went viral on the internet among baseball fans. Whatever he gets his bat on goes out for a run or usually a homer. It does not matter if it’s a high ball outside the strike zone or if there’s a huge wall in the way.

On the other hand, it does not look like anyone can hit any of his pitches for a homer. Currently, Shohei Ohtani has conceded only 0.7 homers in an average of nine innings. Not to say that only one other starter in the Major League has more strikeouts in nine innings than the 14 of Ohtani.

Now, for Shohei Ohtani’s batting record, it is equally phenomenal. He is currently fourth for RBI (32), seventh for runs scored (30), and his slugging percentage is fifth (.612) in the MLB. Among AL teams, he is fourth for runs scored. For his slugging percentage, LA Angels’ Mike Trout leads Ohtani in AL.

Currently, these numbers in the offense coupled with his top 4 ERA in the AL makes certain of Shohei Ohtani’s place as the current MVP in the AL. Of course, the season has a long way to go. But presently Ohtani is head and shoulders above the rest.
