The first two stimulus checks are no longer available, but the final Economic Impact Payment, worth up to $1,400 per person, is still available if you haven’t already received it.

As of January 2022, the majority of the stimulus checks approved by the American Rescue Plan in March 2021 have been sent to qualified beneficiaries by direct deposit or postal checks.

If you haven’t gotten yours or if you qualify for more payments, your last option is to file a 2021 tax return, which is due by April 18 for most people.

Apply For Your Stimulus Check

Even though it was based on the income and number of dependents indicated on your 2020 or 2019 tax return, the third stimulus check was technically an advance on the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit. If your income is reduced or you added additional dependents in 2021, you might owe extra money. Similarly, if you did not submit a tax return in 2019 or 2020, you may be eligible for full credit.

If your gross salary is $75,000 or is under as a single filer or $160,000 or less as a joint filer, the third round of stimulus payments is worth up to $1,400 per person. Families with dependents of any age are eligible for $1,400 per dependant. Make sure the money hasn’t already been paid to you before claiming them. By going into your IRS online account or using the Get My Payment app, you may check the amount of the third payment and if it was issued to you. You can also refer to an IRS letter titled Notice 1444-C, which will inform you how much money is owing to you.

Remember that if your income is $73,000 or less, you may use the IRS Free File Program to file your tax return for free.
