Stimulus Check Update: New Payments Coming Out

The stimulus check payments from the federal government are done and dusted, as the government wants to start a new chapter soon. However, a lucky few in a few states would still be receiving a little extra cash this year- thanks to the stimulus funds being generated at the local level.

While California still has plans of bringing out another round of the Golden State Stimulus payments as it goes about approving its annual budget, several other states have also started gearing up to bring about another round of payments for a few select residents- which includes the state of Massachusetts.

New Stimulus Check Payment Coming In

According to WWLP 22, a local radio station, most of the low-income workers in the state will be eligible for a stimulus check payment of $500 from the state in March. The eligibility for receiving such payment will be based on the state tax returns of 2020, and the income must be between the range of $12,750 – $38,280 for single filers in order to qualify for it. Most of the families of four will be receiving their $500 payment if the total income didn’t seem to be exceeding the range of $78,600.

This stimulus check payment is a part of a $4 billion COVID-19 relief bill that was signed by Governor Charlie Baker in December. Those who received their unemployment benefits back in 2020 will not be eligible for the first round of payments, though a second round is definitely expected to be announced by the state at a much later date. It is also unclear if the second round will be opened up for those who previously received their unemployment benefits.

One shouldn’t forget that though new federal stimulus check payments don’t seem to be on the horizon, there are still quite a few ways through which one can access their older stimulus payments.
