Stimulus Checks In Summer

Tax Package Stimulus Check

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are expected to receive the summer stimulus checks payments in the U.S. government’s bid to provide citizens in need with a financial boost.

This is the second round of stimulus check which is part of the Essential Employee Premium Pay program, which was passed by the Massachusetts Legislature in December 2021.

Summer Stimulus Check Payments: Amount

The first round of premium payments saw nearly 240,000 people receive 500 dollars each back in March. This second round will benefit around 300,000 low-income, essential workers, who should receive the same amount from the state.

As The Sun has reported, the State’s Department of Revenue informed them that the first checks went out on June 6. Citizens will continue receiving payments throughout the month.

The State’s legislature allocated $460million for the stimulus check. To be eligible for the 500 dollars stimulus check, you should have filed a 2021 tax return.

You should also have been a Massachusetts resident before June 15, 2021, or lived there between January 1, 2021, and June 15, 2021. For your application to be accepted, you should have earned at least 13,500 dollars in 2021 employment compensation.

The State will only consider applications by those whose household income was below 300 percent of the federal poverty level in 2021.

“The legislature was proud to establish this program through our ARPA [American Rescue Plan Act] legislation,” Democratic House Speaker Ronald Mariano wrote on Twitter.

“The essential workers who worked to keep the Commonwealth running during the height of the pandemic deserve nothing less.”
