The Beltway’s ‘Whistleblower’ Obsesses Over One Name: Eric Ciaramella

Washington D.C is a place which does not really make any efforts to keep secrets to themselves. However, it has been keeping the name of the whistleblower who outed Trump and set the impeachment process against him well undercover. Inside the Beltway, the name was quite open. The only thing the public has come to know about this whistleblower is that he must be a CIA analyst who worked within the White House for some time and had returned to the CIA. The description fits one person: Eric Ciaramella.

The name has come up in several private impeachment depositions and one open hearing. Now, Democrats are trying to redact the name and stop Republicans from asking questions proceeding to any such revelation.

However, a recent complaint against this whistleblower, who seems to be a reporter of such accusations, shows that he has “some indicia of an arguable political bias … in favor of a rival political candidate.”

Many federal documents have revealed that Eric Ciaramella is registered as a Democrat who worked in the Obama White House and with former Vice President Joe Biden. He also worked with John Brennan, a former CIA director and Trump-critic who had initiated the Russian collusion investigation. Eric also left his post in the National Security Council in the middle of 2017 when there were concerns about negative leaking in the media circles. He returned to CIA headquarters.

A former NSC official has stated: “He was accused of working against Trump and leaking against Trump.”

Eric also sought guidance from Adam Schiff who was the lead prosecutor in the impeachment trial.

Eric has also worked with a Democratic National Committee operative and tried to actively find faults with the Trump investigation. The operative was invited to the White House during meetings too. Alexandra Chalupa, the operative was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton and wanted to dig up dirt against Trump. Many documents show that the opposition had attended at least once in the meetings of the White House.

Since Eric’s name has come up quite often and it has been in the rounds, a research dossier has been created on him. This classified document will be used as briefing and a Republican is expected to give a speech to unmask Eric Ciaramella on the House floor.

Eric’s name has come up on the internet quite a few times, especially on Twitter. Even Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst has mentioned: “Everyone knows who he is. CNN knows. The Washington Post knows. The New York Times knows. Congress knows. The White House knows. Even the president knows who he is.”

Yet the Potomac has kept silent. Many Trump supporters have called this silence corrupt and biased. They have also mentioned that Democrats are misusing the whistleblower protections act since the act provided limited anonymity, not a blanket one. Democrat attorneys have, however, stated that outing the whistleblower would put the family of the whistleblower in harm’s way.

Eric Ciaramella is a CIA officer with a specialization in Ukraine and Russia. He was detailed to work under Susan Rice, the national security adviser of Obama. He worked with Biden too. Many records show that the office of Biden invited Eric in October 2019 in the state luncheon. The luncheon was hosted for Matteo Renzi, Italian Prime Minister, and included guests James Comey and Brennan. Many officials thought it was unusual that Ciaramella, who was just a low-level GS-13 federal employee, would be invited to such a grand event. It showed that this man had connections in the Obama White House.

It has been said that since Eric could speak Ukrainian and Russian, he was the point man regarding Ukraine and worked closely with Biden. During the Trump administration, he was held over and had to head over to the Ukraine desk at NSC.

Eric was quite critical about the foreign policies of the Trump administration.

An official has mentioned that Eric has always been passionate about Ukraine. Hence, many officials are suggesting that there is a probability that Eric is actually the whistleblower.

In 2017 May, Eric had actually gone outside his field of command and sent an email that alerted another agency that Trump was holding a meeting with Russian diplomats in the Oval Office. This meeting was held after Comey was fired. Comey was leading the Trump-Russia investigation. The email had also suggested that Putin had been on a call with Trump the previous week.

The email got leaked in the media and the media stated how Trump had boasted that he had fired Comey. Eric, on the other hand, created a Putin-fired-Comey narrative as per many research dossier. Allegedly, he had argued that Putin suggested Trump fire Comey. This became another evidence of the famous Russian collusion.

The Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not find any such conspiracy between Putin and Trump. His report had the email citation as Eric Ciaramella.

Eric left the White House as soon as Mueller was appointed. No one could reach Eric after that. Eric’s dad, however, doubted that his son may not have come across such sensitive information. The lawyers of the whistleblower did not reveal anything. The CIA is communicating all information on the whistleblower to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. They have not commented on anything yet.

The whistleblower has accused that the president had solicited help from foreign countries to aid him during the 2020 election too. He has mentioned it against a controversial July 25th phone call where Trump asked the new president of Ukraine to investigate the Russia Collusion investigation and where it started from. It might have started in Ukraine where the pro-Hillary Clinton regime was present as per the suspicion of Trump. Trump had also asked about Biden and his son.

Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, and Intelligence Committee Chairman Schiff started the impeachment trial after suggesting that, despite most of the evidence being second-hand, it was clear that there was enough that could amount to an impeachable offense. Even in 2020, Schiff seemed to hire close allies of Eric from the NSC – Sean Misco being one of the two.

This Thursday, the Democrats might vote on new impeachment-inquiry rules and give Republicans a chance to call up their witnesses. If approved by the Democrats, the whistleblower might be the most important of all witnesses to come up for an examination.
