When Tom Holland was asked to play Nathan Drake for the first Uncharted movie, he probably wished he had the powers of Spiderman. On the official YouTube channel of Sony, there is a nearly two and a half minute scene from the movie in which Nathan Drake battles Braddock’s gons on a cargo plane that is flying thousands of feet up in the air.

The cargo moves out of the back, and Drake follows- as his legs get stuck amidst the ropes holding the cargo. Following this, the protagonist of the movie has to cautiously climb his way aboard, while he is continuously being shot at. This scene in the movie is a direct homage to the third installment in the video game series called Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Uncharted Pays Homage To The Video Game

Although Drake manages to climb back into the plane, the audience will see themselves gripping the handles of their seats as Uncharted then brings in another twist- in the form of a red sports car which hurtles towards Nathan Drake- pushing precariously towards the edge of the plane.

Sony Pictures’ Uncharted, directed by Ruben Fleischer- who also directed Venom and Zombieland- is based on the PlayStation exclusive video game series developed by Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment. The film features Holland, the star of the Spider-Man film series, as the protagonist of the movie- Nathan ‘Nate’ Drake. Mark Wahlberg also plays a major role in the movie as Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, the mentor of Nathan.

Other stars in the Uncharted movie include Sophia Ali who plays Chloe Frazer, the love interest of Nate. Also starring is Gabrielle, an alum of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, who plays the role of Braddock, while Antonio Banderas plays the main antagonist as Moncada.
