Chris Evans Steps Into Singing In The Rain Star Gene Kelly’s Shoes

Chris Evans has done a lot of things, from saving the earth to confounding us in a whodunit. But it is for the first time that Chris Evans is set to do a musical and that in the style of one of the greatest dancers ever to grace the silver screen, Gene Kelly.

Evans is set to emulate legendary actor and dancer Gene Kelly. The movie is being produced by playwright, Screenwriter, and producer John Logan.

Sources involved in the project said that the untitled movie is based primarily on an original idea of Evans in which a boy, aged 12, working on a backlot at MGM, back in the 50s suddenly finds in Gene Kelly a fantasy friend as he works on his new film.

Chris Evans Will Also Be Part Of Production Team

A studio has not yet been attached to this project, but Chris Evans is expected to produce this film with Logan, who will also be the scriptwriter of the film.

T-Street productions Ram Bergman and Rian Johnson will produce through their company. Chris Evans, Bergman, and Johnson have last come together in the 2019 hit Knives Out. The sequel of that movie is in the post-production stage. 

Logan, a 3 times Oscar nominee has penned movies such as Gladiator, The Aviator, Sweeney Todd, plus the Bond thriller, Skyfall.

Chris Evans is better known for his role as Captain America. Steve Rogers in Marvel. He has a busy year going for him. Current assignments include Lightyear, an animated film. He voices Buzz Lightyear, the iconic character from Toy Story in the movie.

Chris Evans is featured in the action thriller, The Gray Man, the story of an ex-CIA agent who turns into a fugitive and is hunted by a former colleague played by Chris Evans. Ryan Gosling plays the rogue agent with Ana de Armas, Rege-Jean Page, Dhanush, Billy Bob Thornton, and Michael Gandolfini among the star cast.
