On Saturday, the Haiti earthquake shook and stormed Haiti. The Haiti earthquake has a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale. The earthquake has injured 1800 people and killed 304 people till now. However, the rescue process is underway. There is a high possibility that there is going to be an increase in the casualty rate in the coming days.

Ariel Henry, Prime Minister said that aid is being rushed to areas most affected by the earthquake. There are places where hospitals get filled with incoming injured patients and entire towns get destroyed. According to the Geological Survey of the US, the earthquake’s epicenter lies nearly 78 miles (125 kilometers) west of Port-au-Prince’s capital. One of the poorest nations in the hemisphere also reported widespread damage with a deadly tropical storm brewing across the landmass. The Haiti earthquake has wretched havoc across the nation. The agency of civil protection of Haiti tweeted that the number of deaths stands at 304. The deaths are concentrated more towards the south of the country. 

Bystanders and rescue workers pulled out many people from under the rubble. The ones who got injured due to this Haiti earthquake are still under severe treatment in the hospitals. Henry, Prime Minister of Haiti declared an emergency of one month for the state. However, he refused to demand any international help. He refused to make any such move before knowing the full damage of the Haiti earthquake. He also added that the earthquake wiped many towns. The government has finally put people inside Les Cayes’ coastal town to coordinate and plan the response. Les Cayes’ hospitals are brimming with fractured and wounded people with many people still stuck under the rubble.
