There is no denying that Yellowstone has had a difficult year.

It all started when there were reports that Kevin Costner was quitting the show due to schedule conflicts for the fifth season’s second half of production. The second half of the season is going to launch with a significant delay due to the ongoing writer’s strike.

Yellowstone Fans  Are Disappointed Once Again

In addition, we now know that the series will abruptly stop after season five due to Costner’s announcement that he won’t be returning to the Yellowstone narrative and the development of a Matthew McConaughey spinoff series.

It’s no secret that it hasn’t done too well in the awards department. The show hasn’t been nominated for an Emmy since it ended in 2018. Despite being the most-watched TV program in America for the previous few years.

Although it’s somewhat perplexing, at this point it just feels repetitive. Since he is no longer “under contract” for Yellowstone, Kevin Costner said that he cannot afford to pay his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner $248,000 per month in child support.

“The ‘pay or play’ fixed payment and episodic payment I got have ended. Now, whatever income I receive from Yellowstone will solely come from my contractual participation rights in the back end, which values are variable.

Since the family drama’s 2018 debut, Costner has played patriarch John Dutton; in a statement, he said that a “recent report via the company that produced for Yellowstone showed he wasn’t owed any kind of money”; a claim he has since “disputed”; and that he has not yet received payment from the show this year.
