Yoho resigns from board of Christian organization following confrontation with Ocasio-Corte

The storm between Rep.Yoho and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez seems to be picking pace by the day. After calling her “disgusting” and “a fucking bitch” at the Capitol, Rep Yoho received severe backlash and criticism. Probably as a consequence, he has now resigned from the Board of directors in Christian organization Bread for the World.

The organization sought Yoho’s resignation after rendering his actions as not up to their ethical standards.

“Bread for the World met with Rep. Yoho on Friday and he has resigned from the board of Bread. During that conversation, we reaffirmed our joint commitment to expanding opportunity for men, women, and children around the world and thanked Rep. Yoho for his commitment to foreign aid effectiveness and transparency,” the organization said.

The exchange between Rep Yoho and Rep Corte took place on Monday when he called her disgusting for suggesting that poverty could contribute to the increment in the crime rate in New York City. He further called her a verbally abused her while descending the steps after being called out as rude.

Yoho apologized on Wednesday for his behavior and also denied having directed the profane words at the lawmaker. His apology was, however, not accepted by rep Cortez.
