Disgraced former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo will not be facing criminal charges. These allegations were made by 2 women, one of them a state trooper. They alleged that he kissed them forcibly, according to a suburban prosecutor.

This is the latest in a series of decisions on whether such a slew of such cases brought against Andrew Cuomo should be taken up by a criminal court.

Mimi Rocah, the District Attorney of Westchester County District, said that there was evidence to infer that the conduct alleged by the woman did occur. But no criminal charges can be brought due to the statutory requirement of New York criminal laws, she added.

Andrew Cuomo made no immediate comment regarding the decision. Earlier the Democrat had denied any sexual wrongdoing including touching or harassing anybody. He has also said that he did not recall touching a state trooper.

Following accusations by a group of 11 women, several prosecutors across the state launched an investigation. The allegations against Andrew Cuomo were chronicled by Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York.

Andrew Cuomo Has Dismissed The Charges As Being Inaccurate And Biased

Cuomo resigned after the august reports were made public. He has attacked the finding as being inaccurate and biased.

The sheriff’s office of Albany County filed charges of misdemeanor against Cuomo. But one week later the DA requested the judge for additional time to examine the evidence.

The office of the DA said that the one-page complaint was potentially defective. It is based on charges of groping at the mansion of the former governor in late 2020.

A Long Island prosecutor had said last week that Cuomo would not face criminal charges in the state trooper case as the allegation were not criminal under state law though they were troubling all the same.

The incident allegedly occurred in Westchester County and happened outside Cuomo’s Mount Kisco home. He had kissed her on the cheek and the incident was verified by a male colleague. The trooper hasn’t been identified publicly.

In the second incident, Cuomo is alleged to have grabbed a woman by her arm and kissed her forcibly at a press conference in June 2018.
