Biden Under Storm Over Document Revelation: Draws Republican Criticism

gun reforms Document Revelation

10 documents with classification markings were found at a Washington office that president Biden once used. And this Document Revelations have invited strong criticisms from House Republicans.

The highly classified documents revelation has led to criticism of the DOJ and the House majority has promised to look into the issue and find out what happened.

The matter was first reported by CBS on Monday. President Biden’s lawyers found around 10 documents in the office of the then-vice-president that were marked classified. The building is Washington’s Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.

The documents date back to when Joe Biden was the vice president in the Barack Obama government. The documents revelation follows the discovery of the documents on November 2, days ahead of the midterms. This was revealed by Richard Sauber, the president’s special counsel.

Document Revelation Angers House Republicans Who Demand Investigation

The Document Revelation was reported to the National Archives and Records Administration by the White House counsel’s office. The agency recovered the material the next day, the counsel said.

The Republicans, who have recently gained control over the House, claimed that the DOJ treated the matter differently than they had with Trump. The former’s president amassed a vast trove of highly classified documents at his Mars-a-Lago residence and resort in Florida.

Trump’s Document Revelation is being investigated by a Garland-appointed special counsel. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise said that only the American president has the power to declassify sensitive documents. He said that if it was proved that the then VP, Joe Biden, took documents from the White House and retained them for several years, the press should be asking him some tough questions. He said that Biden instead had criticized Trump for holding onto classified documents during the same period.

Republican House member James Comer said that the documents revelation would have remained unknown had it not been accidentally discovered by the press.
