The Texas Abortion Laws have encouraged many celebrities, most of them women, to come out and criticize it. Billie Eilish is the latest in that list to publicly denounce it. Others include Jennifer Lawrence, Gail Simmons, and Padma Lakshmi, stars of Top Chef, and more. Last weekend, they all took part in rallies across the nation protesting the laws.

Billie Eilish And Her Protest

On 2nd October, Saturday, Billie Eilish protested in her own way while she put on a performance at Music Festival in Austin City Limits. Billie Eilish, who is now 19, directly addressed the new restrictive Texas abortion law.

The new law states that abortions cannot be performed after any heartbeat has been detected. It also gave private citizens the power to file a lawsuit against any provider or anyone who would help perform an abortion on any such fetus. Billie Eilish also revealed that she was considering not performing at the show in Austin because of the stance of the state.

During her performance, Billie Eilish took a break and addressed the issue in the break between songs. “Bans Off Out Bodies” was displayed on the screen at the back of Eilish as she talked about her opinion.

Billie Eilish said that she was tired and sick of the old men taking these decisions. She expletively wanted them to shut up talking about women’s bodies. She continued by saying that she considered backing out because she thought of it as a way of punishing the state. But then, she remembered that the residents are the victims.

The audience cheered her cries, as she continued with her rant. Deniers of climate change were also in her crosshairs on the night. Previously in September, Eilish had also vehemently criticized the Texas Abortion Law.
