Although Blake Shelton hasn’t officially left “The Voice” yet, his replacement is already establishing herself. Holly Brand, a member of Team Kelly, wowed judges Kelly Clarkson, Shelton, Niall Horan and Chance with an emotive rendition of Reba McEntire’s “Rumor Has It” during the semifinals on Monday night.

Alongside Horan and returning coaches Gwen Stefani and John Legend, McEntire has been chosen to stay on as a permanent coach for the 24th Season of the singing competition. Earlier this season, she worked as an adviser to the coaches. Clarkson commented that singing that song was difficult since this was a song by Reba with a wide wide spectrum. Horan commended the performer for displaying another aspect of her vocal talents. That was flawless, he said that she spoke more to them that night, and more of her voice was audible.

The country music legend took Shelton’s place onstage during the semifinal round as announcer Carson Daly introduced McEntire’s forthcoming coaching position. Daly joked asking where did Blake leave and why, quickly adding who cared anyway. After this, he introduced Reba McEntire saying that they were thrilled to have her in “The Voice” fam. Reba McEntire expressed her delight about spending more time with “The Voice”‘s family in the upcoming season. She expressed that she was eager to spend time with everyone today and was thrilled to be a part of the show. Shelton however, was eager to point out that McEntire’s period on the program was still active.
