There was an unexpected turn of events even as Bryson DeChambeau started off on the defense of his title at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. A few hours before the start, Bryson DeChambeau informed that he was parting with Tim Tucker, his caddie of many years.

The parting of ways was known hours before they tee off in Detroit Thursday. Bryson DeChambeau’s agent made the announcement. Brett Falkoff told the Golf Channel that the association had run its course. Both Bryson DeChambeau and Tim Tucker were tired of the relationship and it was bound to happen.

He said that it was not a specific issue or a sudden decision. It was some time coming and was the result of different factors. There had been good and bad moments in their player and caddie relationship. He added that each wished the best for the other in the future.

Bryson DeChambeau and Tim Tucker were together for almost the former’s entire career barring a brief parting in 2017. Tucker had been along for each of his 8 wins. That includes the US Open, and the Rocket Mortgage Classic last year.

No Clear Reason Why Bryson Dechambeau And Tim Tucker Parted Ways

The reason why Tucker and DeChambeau parted ways. Currently ranked 6th, DeChambeau will take along Ben Schomin in Detroit this week. Schomin is the tour operations manager at Cobra Golf.

But in an unwarranted move, Brooks Koepka, who is not involved in any way with the situation, has decided that he had to get involved. His past feud with Bryson DeChambeau came to the fore. Immediately after the news of the parting of DeChambeau and Tucker became news, Koepka wasted no time in sending out a tweet appreciating his caddie.

Koepka tweeted that he couldn’t do it without his caddie and called Ricky Elliott his best friend and the best caddie.
