Carl Weathers is most famously known for his portrayal of Apollo Creed in the “Rocky” series of films. He had starred alongside Sylvester Stallone. On Feb 1st, the veteran actor breathed his last at 76, according to Matt Luber, his agent. Other famous roles of Weathers include 1987s’ “Predator” and Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore”. More recently, his appearance in “The Mandalorian” Star Wars TV series earned him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor.

Carl Weather was also the voice of “Toy Story 4’s” Combat Carl. In “Arrested Development”, Weathers portrayed a fictionalized recurring version of himself. Other credits include the TV series “Brothers”, “Chicago Justice”, “The Shield”, “Colony”, and “Street Justice”. As for films, the list includes “The Comebacks”, “Death Hunt”, and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”.

Carl Weathers was born on Jan 14th, 1948 in New Orleans. He was involved in several sports like gymnastics, wrestling, soccer, football, and boxing. He was a highly-rated college football player during his time at San Diego State University. In 1969, Weathers had also been a part of the Aztecs team that won the Pasadena Bowl. During his time at SDSU, Weathers earned a theatre arts degree. However, in 1970, he joined the Oakland Raiders as a free agent. Weathers’ interest in acting became serious following his professional football career.

Since then, he joined Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura in “Predator”. Both of them went on to become governors in California and Minnesota, respectively. In 1988, Carl Weathers was the host of “Saturday Night Live”. In 2006, he was involved in an argument with Stallone about using his image for a new “Rocky” film.
