Charlie Crist, the representative from Florida, is all set for a head-on fight with Ron DeSantis, the Republican Governor. Crist has already successfully defended himself from Nikki Fried during the Democratic primary race for the seat of the State’s governor.
Democrats Hope Charlie Crist Defeats DeSantis
It is the hope of the Democrats that Charlie Crist will be the unassailable blockade in the face of DeSantis’ presidential aspirations for 2024 early on. Crist has been a politician for a long time and was previously the Republican governor of Florida. He has since switched sides to the Democrats and hopes to put a dent, at least, in DeSantis‘ aspirations.
In November, Senator Marco Rubio is set to go up against representative Val Demings of Florida, after Demings recorded an extremely one-sided victory in the Democratic primaries.
For New York, Representative Carolyn Maloney fell to representative Jerry Nadler. The two Democrats, both of whom are quite high-profile, had to confront each other following the decision of the state court to merge the two districts of congress. Both representatives of the U.S. boast nearly three decades of experience as a congressional representatives as well as markedly liberal records when it comes to voting. In the U.S. House Democratic Primary for New York, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney came out on top with a small margin over state senator Alessandra Biaggi.
In the 10th United States congressional district in Florida, voters selected Maxwell Frost, of the Democratic Party as a nominee for the Democratic party. This may be the first time that a Gen Z citizen might go on to represent a seat in Congress.
