Cheney battle raises questions about House GOP’s future

Republican Chairwoman Liz Cheney was found to be in the middle of a clash this week. The clash triggered as a result of a heated conversation between Cheney and a group of conservative lawmakers regarding a conversation about the future of the party and her career in politics.

This Tuesday, Cheney who rose higher to become the House Republican No 3, was badly criticized for her loyalty towards President Donald Trump. She was criticized for donating to the primary opponent of Massie even after not being supported by President Donald Trump and Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert.

It was said that it would be difficult for Cheney, the GOP Speaker who was thought to be highly capable, to rise high in the conference.

“A calculated political hit job in one conference meeting does not destroy a person’s career,” Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) said. “What happened in that conference was a representation of the mood of Republican members generally, that there is angst.”

Some believed that she has ruined her career extremely in the House by handling things in that way many believed that a person’s life and career cannot be damaged based on a single day. On the other hand, Cheney has dismissed all the arguments and allegations.
