Chris Cuomo, the anchor of CNN, has been effectively fired from the network following an internal review that took place at a law firm. The company also announced that Cuomo was suspended earlier with a pending further evaluation of new information that came out in the open about his involvement in the defense of his brother.

The statement continued by mentioning that they had retained quite a high profile law firm which conducted the review- following which Cuomo’s contract was terminated immediately. At the same time, new information had also come up during this review, which the company would be investigating as appropriate.

Chris Cuomo Has Been Fired From CNN

Chris Cuomo, on his part, stated that although he didn’t expect his time with the CNN to end in such a manner, he had been pretty open about how and why he helped his brother.

So, while the news was pretty disappointing, he couldn’t be any prouder of his team at Cuomo Prime Time, along with all the work that they did as the number 1 show of CNN in the most competitive slot. He further stated that he owed his success to all of them- and would definitely miss that group of people who meant the world to him.

Chris Cuomo’s termination came after CNN had suspended him the previous week, pending evaluation of his conduct after revelations from the investigation of the New York attorney into his brother, the impeached Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo. Media transcripts from the interview with state investigators revealed that the anchor of CNN had admitted that he would be reaching out to media sources to identify new accusers who haven’t yet come forward publicly.

In his investigation, Chris Cuomo said that he would reach out to other journalists and sources to see if they had heard of anyone else coming out as a witness.
