Cristiano Ronaldo is going to leave Manchester United this summer, according to reports in England. The Portuguese star is apparently disappointed that the Red Devils haven’t imitated Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich by offering him a contract extension for four or five more years.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, told a Portuguese sports newspaper that the player wants to leave United, who he joined from Sporting Lisbon in 2003. “Cristiano was unhappy with his substitution and everything else,” Mendes said. “He didn’t feel that it was correct to be taken off.”

The newspaper added that Cristiano Ronaldo believes there are certain things about United which do not meet his expectations: He feels that the club does not award long-term contracts and does not punish players for indiscipline or poor performances.

Cristiano Ronaldo Is No Longer The Winner He Once Was

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has personal terms in place with Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, who is eager to bring him back to Turin where he spent four successful years before moving to Old Trafford for then-world record fee of £80million in 2009.

Juventus are willing to offer Ronaldo a three-year deal worth €30m (£27m) net each season and a €1bn (£890m) buyout clause which would be among the highest ever paid by any club.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, told the Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola that the player wants to leave United, who he joined from Sporting Lisbon in 2003. “Cristiano was unhappy with his substitution and everything else,” Mendes said. “He didn’t feel that it was correct to be taken off.”

A Bola reported that Ronaldo was also angry at being booked for diving in the first leg against Benfica last week. The newspaper added that Ronaldo believes there are certain things about United which do not meet his expectations. He feels that the club does not award long-term contracts and does not punish players for indiscipline or poor performances.

To add fuel to the fire, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly decided to call off contract talks and has told some of his friends in Portugal that “he is going home this summer.”
