David Montgomery Rejoins Bears’ Practice On Thursday, Could Be On Against Steelers

David Montgomery

The Bears offense is set to welcome back one of their best players on the field when they move to Pittsburgh for their game this Monday against the Steelers. Montgomery is back in practice, announced Matt Nagy. It opens his 21-hour window to be back on the roster.

Nagy said that it was great to have David Montgomery back in the team because he has turned into a leader for the offensive. That was being sorely missed by the team. And to have him join the huddles and be in the general thick of things was a great feeling, Nagy said.

David Montgomery was out since Week 4 after he damaged his knee. Till then, it seemed he was on course to have his career-best year ever. The Bears have reported that he would be telling them how he is getting on and then decides on the road ahead.

Khalil Herbert Has Been As Reliable As David Montgomery

Khalil Herbert is a steady replacement for David Montgomery. The 6th-round draft pick displayed tremendous patience and field vision during the 4 weeks that David has been out. he has been vital in keeping the game moving for the Bears.

Herbert has already managed 344 rushing yards with 78 carries, a YPC rate of 4.4. he was also good for a rushing touchdown.

In spite of the success, Nagy says that when David Montgomery returns, he will not be ceding carries. Nagy said that Montgomery had worked awfully hard to achieve what he has, and has been led the offensive brilliantly.

Montgomery’s layoff must have seemed like forever for him, and it felt that way for the team too, said Nagy. Montgomery practiced with limitations, but given that he is the offensive identity for the Chicago Bears, supporters will take whatever good news comes their way.
