David West upset Knicks are reportedly hiring Tom Thibodeau as coach

It is quite ironic that Tom Thibodeau will yet again get an opportunity to coach an NBA team, even after being fired from 2 in the last 5 years. According to ESPN, the New York Knicks are preparing for a 5-year contract with the erstwhile Minnesota Timberwolves, and Chicago Bulls coach.

According to David West, this just comes off as a shock, considering Tom’s previous record as a coach. The former Warriors big man tweeted, wondering how many times could a black coach fail. He also entered a rift with Kendrick Perkins, the former NBA center who believed that Tom would be a great coach for the Knicks.

While it has been acknowledged that Tom can be quite tough with his players, West believes he simply destroys the talents as he sees fit. He also brought out a list of three other black coaches who haven’t yet got a chance to coach another team, which includes Mark Jackson- the former head coach of the Warriors.

Even though Mark Jackson didn’t really win any major trophy for the Warriors, he set up the foundation on which the current dynasty sits. Yet, since getting sacked from the Warriors back in 2014, he has worked as an ESPN analyst rather than getting another team.
