For the first time in this election process, a Democratic Senate candidate, Jamie Harrison outdid Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in raising funds in the first three months of this year.

In the first quarter of 2020, Harrison collected above $7.3 million which is much higher than an amount of $3.7 million which he had raised in the last quarter of 2019. The campaign stated that the amount set a record in terms of raising funds in three months. He has a little more than $8 million in cash-on-hand.

Graham’s fund, $5.6 million, outpaced his previous collection taking the total cash-on-hand of the Senator to $12.8 million. His campaign said that the total represented the most funds South Carolina has ever raised.

Graham’s campaign further said that the Democratic Senator witnessed a new high in the funds raised although he had to cancel fundraising routines during the Senate impeachment trial and in-person meetings when President Donald Trump declared a national emergency due to the virus outbreak.
