Doja Cat’s DM dispute with Noah Schnapp did not go over well with her devoted fanbase.
Social Blade reports that when the “Stranger Things” actor posted their DMs on a now-deleted TikTok, the rapper’s Instagram following dropped by around 200k.
The Grammy winner appeared to lose some of his fan base, but the actor acquired roughly 2 million new ones as a result of the scandal.
When the musician requested the rising star to match her up with the co-star Joseph Quinn, the actor’s reputation quickly plummeted and the pair’s feud began.
Doja Cat Lost While Noah Won
Schnapp, then age 17, took advantage of the situation and made a humorous TikTok based on his exchanges with the “Woman” singer. Doja Cat, on the other hand, was not quite as amused.
The 26-year-old came online on Insta days just after the video became viral, labeling it “downright snake s-t, that is like weasel s-t”
At the end of her tirade, the “Say So” singer softened her stance a little by pointing out that Noah is still a young man and also that he must make errors in order to grow from them.
In order to learn your lesson and avoid repeating it in the future, “Like, you are supposed to do that. I made my fair share of mistakes so I would not make the same ones twice,” Doja remarked.
Doja may have felt humiliated, but her declining number of followers suggests that many of her fans agree with the young actor’s supporters that the singer overstepped her bounds by attacking him.
Doja Cat is an adult and as such, needs to be treated as such. Contact him via private messages rather than publicly. One of his fans tweeted that he “literally intended no damage and considered it to be amusing.
Doja Cat, is just seventeen (a juvenile), and you, as an adult, have no business asking him to set up a date. “That in and of itself is bizarre,” tweeted a third user.
