Around thousand Oregon workers can receive extra stimulus checks if this bill having bipartisan support goes through the floor. Lawmakers of Oregon are currently working on this bill which can give bonuses to Oregon workers for continuing to work or returning to work during the pandemic.

It Is Still Unclear Whether Extra Stimulus Checks Will Go To The Oregon Workers!

By this fall, with the passing of this proposal, around a thousand workers can get stimulus checks having amounts from $1,000 to $2,000. Although this bill has massive bipartisan support, the legislative process will most likely not get through this year. In Salem, the session used for the legislative process is going to get over soon. Yet around a dozen bills are getting considered.

The state received a sum of $2 bn which one proposal is suggesting to give to the Oregon workers as stimulus checks. The state received this amount from the Biden administration. They want to provide continuous incentives and money to essential workers. There are over a thousand workers who silently worked through this pandemic, wearing a mask and keeping Americans and our communities safe.

According to Melissa Unger, Executive Director, SEIU Local, said that this respectful work from Oregon workers should be recognized by providing them with stimulus checks. She is lobbying with her union for this bill to get through and support workers of the front-line. Bipartisan support is there for Bill 3409 of the House.

Kim Wallan, Representative, Medford State, signed the proposal as one of its sponsors. She is still uncertain whether this bill will get signed this season. Wallan said that Republican colleagues will play an important role in signing this bill. She is hopeful that with massive bipartisan support and help from the people, this bill can get passed this season.
