Ed Cooley has become the new head coach of Georgetown as per the school’s announcement on Monday. Ed Cooley marked an upgrade from the program Georgetown had under the coaching of Patrick Ewing that included a losing streak for twenty-nine games and thirteen to fifty record in their last couple of seasons.

The president of the Hoyas Men’s Basketball team said that Ed Cooley is an experienced coach and he values the aims of the game and the aims of the club, and he has enough knowledge of the game to make these aims come true for the team. It is evident with those words that the club is completely convinced the new process of Ed Cooley. The president of the club also added that the commitment of the coach both on the field and off the field will help them bring the best out of the players and it will help the members of the team with new boost in confidence.

Georgetown under Ed Cooley will be great if Colley keep his consistently overachieving trends with Providence. Cooley as a coach has been a huge success in the NCAA tournament in the last nine years. The new coach of Georgetown said that he is excited to get the opportunity to lead the program at Georgetown. He said that he is planning to improve the ground running and court movement of the team. He said that it is not a decision he took lightly and will try his best to prove that.

Georgetown’s success in the NCAA tournament is reaching the tournament in the last seven years and they also extended the contract for Ewing as he got his only NCAAA bid after winning the tournament. The school does not have a winning record in the tournament since 14-15 season.
