This time around, the lead was not thrown away. Los Angeles Lakers kept their foot on the gas as they washed away Golden State Warriors 117-91. The match also saw history being made. The game marked the 1300th regular-season game for LeBron James, being the 23rd player in NBA history to do so.

Lakers Coach Ecstatic With The Performance

Coach Frank Vogel hailed his players as being terrific on the day. LeBron James who scored 19, was one of the six in his team to do so in the match. The players were especially aware of the result last time around when they blew a 14 point lead, evident from Markieff Morris’ words. Kyle Kuzma, Morris, and Alex Caruso were the others to score in double digits for the Lakers.

The Lakers had been in a poor run of form since losing Anthony Davies to injury, however, they are now on a two-match winning streak. They are hopeful that they can extend this run and get some good results under their belt.

The Warriors, on the other hand, failed to even fight in the game, unlike the reverse fixture at Staples Centre on January 18th. Eric Paschall, Stephen Curry, and Kelly Oubre Jr. scored in double digits as their 3 game streak came to an end.

Warriors Coach Steve Kerr refused to dwell on the match too much and said that some matches had no explanation. Furthermore, Daymond Green has suffered an injury although coach Kerr has said that it has not been considered as anything serious.

The Warriors travel to Portland next, having won one and lost one of their first two meetings. The Lakers meet Phoenix next for the first time this season.
