Liz Cheney, the chairwoman of the house conference, is currently going through the wrath of the voters of the GOP as well as her colleagues, another time. The problem that needs to be solved is the internal divisions within the Republican party. And the plan that is to be followed by the party in order to march forwards following former President Donald Trump’s wake.
Liz Cheney’s Next Move
An important decision had been revealed by the chairwoman in the past week. It was with regard to her running for the office of President in the 2024 election. The Republican also went on to criticize those members of the party who had shown support for the action of challenging the 2020 Presidential results on the 6th of January. Liz Cheney was criticized for making an approach towards President Joe Biden. It was while he was on his way to make his speech at the Congress joint session. This had taken place this Wednesday.
The chairwoman too to the social media platform, Twitter, to defend her decision. Through her tweet, Liz Cheney tried to deliver a sense of unity and solidarity. The tweet said that though she does not comply with the policies of the President, she will show him respect after he makes a greeting gesture to her. She further stated that though they belonged to opposing political parties, they were far from being enemies. And despite everything, they were all the citizens of the United States of America.
It cannot be denied that there is so much that needs to be taken care of by Liz Cheney at the moment. That includes the ongoing drift in the Republican party and the growing number of the opposition working hard to take her place in Wyoming. However, the chairwoman has no plans of backing away from where she stands concerning the January 6th issue.
